Pregnancy and early motherhood Can feel beautiful, overwhelming deeply personal.
And in such a powerful moment,
no woman should feel alone.
Birth is not just a medical event, it’s emotional, raw, and uniquely yours.
Many women later share that what stayed with them wasn’t only what happened during birth, but how they were spoken to, how they were supported, and whether they felt heard in those moments.
You deserve to feel safe enough to trust your body, supported enough to follow your instincts, and reassured enough to move through it with calm and confidence.
You deserve someone by your side who honours your wishes, protects your space, and cares for you just as much as for your baby.
Raquel Alvarez
Certified Maternity Practitioner and Doula
I’m Raquel, originally from Venezuela, a country where birth and motherhood are deeply honoured. It's a place where, even in poverty, women are surrounded by a circle of strength, supported and never left to walk that path alone.
I didn’t always know I would do this work. It became clear during my training as a Maternity Practitioner, when my mother opened up about a shadow she had carried for years.
She had lost her first child.
She was completely alone. No one prepared her for what was coming, no one explained what was happening.
She remembers watching her baby being taken away without explanation.
She was left with silence, unanswered questions, and a pain that never really found its place.
Hearing her say it... something in me shifted. I realised how deeply a birth experience stays with a woman. It shapes her confidence, her peace, and the way she enters motherhood again. In that moment, I knew: no woman should ever experience some like that. No woman should feel lost or unheard in such a powerful moment. No woman should carry unanswered questions from something so sacred.
That was when this path became more than a career; it became a deep belief. Every woman deserves to feel held, supported, and safe in her own body, knowing she is never alone.
